A few years ago, I did something that previously I never imagined myself doing. And I’m not talking about getting married (although that development was quite surprising as well).
I bought an RV.
Specifically, my wife and I bought a 25-foot Airstream travel trailer.
It was her idea. I never saw myself owning an RV, mainly because I am 6′ 2” and fear hitting my head on low ceilings. Not having grown up with RV camping, I didn’t “get it.”
But then one day, we got our Airstream. Then we got hitched. Then I got it. Boy, did I ever…
We started an ongoing adventure of sorts. We blogged the fun in a website called “Long Long Honeymoon,” donned pith helmets, wrote pithy articles, and shot three trillion videos. So far we’ve hauled our rig throughout the lower 48 states.
Alaska? We’re still making plans for Alaska. At the moment, we’re waiting for diesel prices to stop resembling one of those national debt clocks.
As for Hawaii? We’ll see it someday too, though we’ve no intention of testing the seaworthiness of our “land yacht.” We’ll likely book a flight – anything with a lei greeting will be fine.
But before we move forward, we must look back. Yes boys and girls, it’s time for a book! An ebook, that is. I hope you enjoy it.
“Long Long Honeymoon – Living Large in a Small Tin Can” is now available on the AMAZON KINDLE platform for the rock bottom price of $2.99! Check it out now – before we come to our senses!

Hey don’t wait go next year we went last year you will never forget it an you forget about diesel Prices sonny hamm
ALASKA!!! Don’t wait!!! If you worry about fuel prices, you’ll never go!!!
Take the Alaska Ferry System! From Bellingham, WA!
I would wait till at least April/May 2012. But that will give you time to research!

You have to do it. We went in 2006 – fuel was higher then but not by much. We paid $5.50 somewhere. We were pulling a 30′ 5er with a Ford F250 diesel – probably got 8 MPG straight down with a tail wind. It did ground us for a while as we traveled over 7,000 miles out of Helena MT. We are probably lucky to live this close but for all the miles we have traveled, those are still the most wonderful of memories. We would love to go again – the sites, the animals, the flora… We played golf when it should have been totally dark. We saw the can can dancers in Dawson Creek – panned for gold at Chicken – fished for Grayling somewhere south of there and popped them out of the river into the skillet. We fished for halibut off the Homer Spit and combat fished on the Kenai River. We will never forget it. We took our old cat who is much older now but even he had a good time. Get your milepost and get to planning… Oh, just so you know, we never had a flat, never got a rock chip and never broke a light or a windshield. We thought that the roads were pretty good. fWe were there in July. Loved it.

I would like to read your book but I don’t have a kindle.
Charging $2.99; what is this about, perhaps I can write one
Well worth the time and money. The best trip we ever took want to go again. Go while you are young and can really enjoy.
Howdy Kristy & Sean,
Gotta get a Kindle, so I can read the ‘book’!! Are there any pics of Kristy in it???
I know you’re in there with your pith helmet on!!! Why did you stop traveling???
We need more videos of ‘weird’ stuff, that only you can dig up!!!
Hope y’all are having a blast!!!!

The other day, while I was at work, my cousin stole my iphone and tested to see if it can survive a twenty five foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!
