A Visit to Kentucky Horse Park
by Chris Guld, www.geeksontour.com
What’s a horse park? It’s a park for horses! People from all around Kentucky bring their horses here to play. Retired racehorse champions get to live here in their senior years.
And, it’s a great place for travelers to visit, learn about horses and get up close and personal. There’s an RV park adjacent to the Kentucky Horse Park. Many of the RV sites were occupied with horse trailers! I think, in Kentucky, horses are part of the family.
We were there for the Fourth of July weekend it was packed! Visiting the horse park and taking in the shows was a perfect thing to do! The short movie below gives you a sampling of our day. It is also an example of using Windows Live Movie Maker to combine your still photos and your video clips into one movie.
Hope you had a great Fourth of July! We certainly did.

We’ve camped at the RV park … it’s a great place to go and also tour the farm. While you are at it, take a drive all around the area – the horse farms are fabulous, and don’t miss touring the distilleries!!!
I live about 10 minutes from the Horse Park. We Camp there just for a break now and then. This is a nice area.
Thank You for posting this article. You have added another stop for our trip to Branson, Mo. in September

This is an excellent place to spend a few days. We learned if you go to the park after 4:00 PM the admission is good for all the next day. There are several shows after 4:00 to see and you can see them bring in some of the horses from the pastures.
The RV Park is a great stop and 2 years ago was very economical.
We camped there on Sunday Memorial Day weekend. It was very crowded. People kept trapseing through our area going to the pool. It was very hot. We had to wait in line for an hour at one of two dump stations Monday morning. There are no other dump stations in the area. We went from there to Berea to see the crafts, but everything was closed in the afternoon. We did enjoys touring around the horse farms, but the roads are very narrow and have no shoulders. We camped at My Old Kentucky home state park later in the week, and we highly recommend it. One of the most beautiful golf courses I have seen.
It is my understanding that this park is closed from 8/30-10/14/10. We were going to stop on our way home from Florida.
