Swimming Pool Drain Guards

As Betty and I travel from park to park we try and check to see if the swimming pools and hot tubs have drain guards in place.

The drain guard manufacturers are behind in their work.  Not all types of guards are available to our parks as required by law.  Effective the first of this year, these guards were to be in place.  But the parts weren’t always available.

A person can be trapped at the drain from the suction of the pool pump.  the smaller the individual, the greater the problem.  It would be a shame if someone were to  drown as result of our not being observant.

Please share any information with others as we look after our children,  young people and senior citizens.

Happy Camping,

Fred b.

    Fred,
Good point as small as it would seem to some. During my 33 year career as a fire captain/paramedic I responded to many of incidents like this, due to exactly what you mention. Most ended in embarrassment , but a few ended with injury, especially children.
