Email a map with Google Earth

Google Earth must be the most fascinating application on the web today. Did you ever have a globe and use it to just dream about far away places? Did you wish you could just point at any place on that globe and dive in – finding out all you ever wanted to know? That’s Google Earth. A magic globe that can tell you anything you want to know about any place.

But first, you have to get familiar with the program itself. The video below shows you how to use Google Earth to make your own map of where you are, then send it to a friend in an email so they can find you even in an obscure corner of a campground. You may already do this with other mapping programs, but I think you’ll like how it works with Google Earth. And, once you get started using Google Earth, you may never stop!

Thank you so much. I have had google for a while and was afraid to even attempt to figure it out. This was a very clear explanation. I will now start to use it.

Nice and easy — great explanation to a program that I too have had difficulty using. I’m going to go try out your ideas Chris. BTW, you have really come a long way in your “teaching” skills. I really appreciate that and just wanted to pass it along!!!

    Art,

You need to have the latest flash player. You can get it at:
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

If that doesn’t do it, there is more help at:

Thanks for the help, but I guess I’ll have to pass on GE. When I load your link, http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/, and take out the Google tool bar option that I don’t want, it locks up everything. So I went directly to my Adobe and downloaded any updates. Went back to your link and tried GE again and it does the same thing………..appears to load, but nada.

I then looked at your second suggestion, http://www.screencast.com/answers/tutorial.aspx?id=397
and decided that I didn’t want to go thru all that as I can open all other videos with out any problems.

    Anyway thanks for your help.
